A Christmas Carol

A main character in this story is Scrooge. He is a old man and mean man. He is known to have cold heart by everyone. He runs his office with friend but his friend was died 7 years ago. Even on the Christmas, he does not celebrate it and goes to bed. In midnight, his friend apeears to his side of the bed. 'You are too mean to people but you have chance to change. Three spirits are going to visit you. You can learn from them.' As his friend says, three spirits visit Scrooge in the night. He sees how people think of him, his employee's poor, his sad future. After seeing his past, present and futere, he starts to change himself. He gets chance to restart the Christmas. He is a nice man now. At first, I do not like Scrooge too. I want my anchestor to send three spirits too. I want to see my future!

1. Introduction

I went to Minnesota this summer. I think Japanese have many images of American. For example, American eat heavy food each meal, American are independent, and American have cheerful character. What I thought about these images after I went to Minnesota, it is same to Japanese. Japanese are said to be serious and polite. But it cannot say to all Japanese. There are Japanese who have cheerful character, and some Japanese are not so serious like me. It is same to American, there are shy people and there are people who eat less food than me.

2. Difference between American and Japanese thinking

The biggest difference that I thought between Japanese and American is that American do not care others’ eyes. I like this thinking, because I like to try any clothes. I wear short pants and short skirts even if I know I have fat legs. Third weekend, I visited host mother’s mother. It was hot day. They were all wearing no sleeve shirts. I was wearing a T-shirt. They were all surprised at me and said me ‘Aren’t you hot?! ‘You should change your clothes!’ I know it’s rude but I cannot say they are skinny by any standard. They are living simply. Because it is hot, they ware short pants and no sleeve shirts. In the same situation, I was asked ‘why do Japanese girls wear leggings under short pants even it‘s hot out in here.’ To answer this question, we wear leggings for hiding our legs we don’t have confidence in ourselves legs having some worries or just it is chilly outside. They do not know meaning of being ashamed.

One day, I was watching TV show with my host mother. She has young mind, I like to do almost same thing to her. She is 38 years old though. She likes to watch dating shows. The dating show was held in dark. After first meeting in the dark three women and three men, he or she asks to go on date his or her favorite person. Then, if they want to meet again, they can meet a few times in the dark. If they think they want to go on date outside, they decide after looking each other’s appearances under the lights. If she or he still thinks I want to go on date with him or her, they will meet outside and can go on date. Even if they like each other’s character, if they don’t like each other’s looking they won’t meet outside. It is a little bit dreadful show. In the show, I saw a woman who is a model. She has good looking, and she knows it. She said ` I know I am beautiful. I want to be loved by my character, not by my looking.’ When I heard this, I was surprised and asked my host mother. “She said ` I am beautiful.’?” I asked her this question laughing. She answered my question ` Yes’ with her face `why are you laughing? It’s normal.’ Japanese think modesty is virtue. Even if you are smart and you know that you must not take attitude which show you are smart. It will make your position bad. You are probably said your bad things behind your back. In addition, even if you have good looking and you know that saying by people, you must not say ` I am cute.’ These are prohibition words.

In class, our teachers told us American’s attitude for class. For American, It is so rude to chat in the class. I think it is same as Japan, but it is ruder than Japanese think in the U.S. He said `In some classes, if you chat in the class even little chat, you will be told get out of the room.’ Instead of this, asking question in class will please teachers. It means you were listening to teacher’s lecture properly. Even the lecture is held in a big place which contains 200 or 300 people. American students ask questions to their teachers in front of hundreds of people with no hesitate.

The evidence for this, we were asked that ` Do you have any question?’ every after the class. That is difficult for us. Japanese cultures prefer to be quiet and just listen to speaking or lecture. Of course some people are not listening to their speaking. And if speakers say ‘Do you have any question?’’ most of the people hesitate to ask question caring other people’s eyes. I thought that culture cause stereotype of Japanese, ‘Japanese are quiet’.

It is known to almost all of Japanese through dramas and movies, American is good at expressing their feeling. They express ` I love you’ obediently. If they feel stage dramas which they saw they shout ` Wonderful’. The word `tacit understanding’ is showing how Japanese think. Japanese think even if I do not say thing straight, other people will get their feeling only their attitude. It would be not understand by other people in other countries. I think Japanese should follow this custom.

3. Conclusion

To understand people who have different culture and language is so difficult. Even if we think it is normal, probably it is not normal for other people from other country. Through this home stay for a month, I have learned other thinking and should try to communicate to understand each other not worrying make a mistake. And if I was reborn I would be an American.

Christmas Eve

It is Christmas Eve! I like Christmas atmosphere though i have part time job today and tomorrow. But day after tomorrow, I am going to Fukuoka and meet friends. I am looking forward to it. It is the last day illumination in the Canal city. In the TV show, I saw beautiful illumination there. I am excited!! And I was said from my dad I could get christmas present from him. I am happy. I probably get money from him. I am thinking what I am going to buy!

i am going to introduce Garage Sale. They are famous comedian. It's member is Gori and Kawa-chan. They are friends from junior high school. They started activity as volunteer stuffs in comedy theater. At that time, they guided Kokoriko and London boots and so on! After that they were admitted to show their comic dialogues at the stage. They are very famous now. They became big work as emcee in TV show. I do not like them using local dialect when I was in Okinawa. But now, I feel relieved when I hear their local dialect. I love them.

On Saturday, I took a simulate interview. It was a fake interview for real airline interview. I was so nervous. Because I am easy to forget everything because of nervousness. And I am poor posture, so my hip started to hart by being good posture. As I thought, I had hip ache next day. I am happy to finish my simulate interview. Many exciting things are waiting for me. I am going to go to Fukuoka and have happy time next week. In January, I have coming-of-age ceremony with my classmate from junior high. After that we have drinking party! We are planning many thing while I am staying in Okinawa. I am excited to see my friends and chat and laugh!

I read ' The Long Shot'. This story is little scary for me. Not scary for like ghost, but for human! Rikki and Tony are first grade in Howard high school. They like playing basketball and very good at it. Howard high school is famous for basketball. Many boys want to join the basket club. And to be a regular player, they have to take a test. Most of right for regular player are taken by senior. Of course, Rikki and Tony take a test. One day, There is a leter in them locker from some one. The letter said, Stop to take a test or bad thing will happen. They thought it was just threaten. After that, e-mail written same thing as letter are sent to them. They worry about it. Unfortunately, Rikki is atacked by the red car. He broke his legs. They thought it was done by basketball player jeolousing them. They hold a party and Tracy who is a frind of them heared senior Poul and Kyle were talking. They did to them! Principal punished them. Rikki got better of his injure and played in the important game. He made a shoot and because of him shoot his team won the game. I thought the same thing happens in Japan, but the seniors are so terrible!! They should win the right for regular player not by violence, by their effort!

This book seemed little scary story, but actually it was not. One day, McKinry family went to Hluhluwe Umfolozi Park to take pictures of wild animals. Father David was so excited to see the animals and had a car accident. The guide of them, George and David was died. When mother, Susan opend her eyes, she could not understand what was happening. She lost her memory. But she could see car crashed, then she called police. After calling police, she was missing. Her young san Samuel 2years old at that time was missing too. Fortunately, He was cared by mother elephant and found safely. He grow up with his adopted family. 16 years later, Samuel went to island for chality. In the island, one woman lived. When She saw Samuel's barthmark, she was surprised. She remembered something. She was Susan. They compished touching reunion. I was sohappy to read this story's end.

I had a busy saturday. I woke up at 8o' clock and went to school in hurry. I took a TOEIC. I want to introduce a greatest restaurant in Ooe. The restaurant in Italian restaurant and they have 3 employees there. They make really great dishes there, and a lot of people have dinner there.

The name of the Italian restaurant is "Chao". It means hello or good bye in Italian.

The restaurant was started in 2008, and they got three stars from the "Great Italian book" in 2010. The restaurant is usually closed on Sunday, so you should go there Mon - Sat. Their best dish is only 20 for a day, so you are not able to have it, if you go there late.

I know one of the cook there, and I will introduce her a little.

Her name is xiao qiao. She is from China, and she was in Italy for 10 years. She had run her own restaurant there for 8 years. She was one of a great cook in Italy and China. That's why she decided to come here and run Italian restaurant.

She was born in NY. She is 22 years old. She was interested in cooking when she was 10 years old. So she went to China to study cooking when she was 16 years old. She trained for a cook in there for 5 years. And she works at “Chao” now.

I saw Changeling 2 or 3 weeks ago. This is based on the true story. One day, while Mrs. Christin were working, her son Walter dissapeared. She called police and asked them to find Walter. About half of year later, Walter came back. They should have done emotional reunion, but they could not. It was not Walter. Mrs.Christin asked police to seek Walter again. But police said it was Walter and you did not want to care about him. That's why you rejected him. The more hardly she appealed, the more hardly pressure was put on her. Finally, she was closed in phychic hospital as mental patient. In there, lots of women who battled the police and was shut in the hospital by police authority. At that time of the city, many outrage of police were known to citizen and they wanted to recover police dignity by doing good thing. Doctor tried to look Mrs. Christin to be mental parson by any saying and moving. He said if you stop saying it was not Walter and signed the document, you can go out of this hospital. But she wouldn't.
In another place, a boy was arrested for illegal stay. He said he killed about 20 boys forced by his cousin. There was a possibility Walter was murdered by them. Because of this accidednt, the police's outrages were revealed.
There was a priest who cooperate with Mrs.Christin. Thenks for him, many people gathered against police. Mrs.Christin and women were released.
At first, I was full of anger for police. There were many people who did not commit any crime in the phychic hospital. The police were terrible! But I wanted Walter to be safe...

littlebit about weekend

I spent my weekend in Kokura. I went there on Friday. I was happy because no class in 1st period and 3rd period this friday. So I took a just 12 o'clock bus. After I met my friend Saori, we went to Nitori and bought my faniture. On Saturday, we lent a car and went to Tunosima which has beautiful ocean in Yamaguchi and after that, we went to Fukuoka city. That was a long drive. I have a drive license but I have not driven for a long time. So Saori drove all the way to the Fukuoka and Yamaguchi. it took three hours to get to Fukuoka city to Tunosima using high way. I was tired of it and Saori was tired more than me. I thought I have to practice driving. If I could, we would plan to lent a car and go to Aso and Kinpouzan in Kumamoto. I hope she will come soon to Kumamoto.

He realied they were killed by his work. He was afraid of his work. He had a chance to meet him. He talked sadly, angrily. He did not intend to hurt people. He just wanted to make friends who can be talk to. Reglettably, people go away from him when they saw him ugly looking. he just wanted frinds! He promised frankenstein, if he make a wife for him, he will not hurt anyone. But Frankenstein started to think afraid of them, stopped his working. At last, franken followed him but could not catch him. He was dead of tired. Monster who looked Franken's dead body stopped revenging for Franken, and killed himself.
It was so sad story. I think frankein is the worst person. Because he made his work, he should have responsible of him. He should have make his wife!

My slogan in this year is to take licenses more. Now, I passed secretary test. I will take TOEIC test in December. I hope I will be able to take higher score than before one. My favorite high school memory is school festival of last year. Because we were the 12th grade, we were leaders of younger grades. We had brother classes and in school festival, we performance with 10th grade brother class and 11th grade brother class. We discussed what we would do in the festival. At first, our plan was to do `swing girls`. But we could not do that. Musical instruments could not be borrowed. It needed to be borrowed about hundred of musical instruments. We were worried about what would do. Because other classes had already started practicing. At last, we decided to performance Eisa. We practiced hard and hard. We taught 10th graders and 11th graders. Sometime, we were scolded to raise voice. The day of school festival, we enjoyed dancing Eisa and were praised from teachers and parents. It was great for last school festival.

Claire

I went to Claire with friends. At first, we ate schooner parfait. We thought it would made us feeling bad, but it was good for four people to eat. I was satisfaid with eating this big size parfait. After that, we enjoyed shopping in the Claire. Though I found some cute clothes I decided to endure buying those. Bwcause I had found very very cuth clothes and it costs much. I have no money to buy clothes! Then, we saw 'Knight and Day'. It was the exciting movie. A woman who was acted by Cameron was ordinaly person at first. But she became wild after riding on certain airplane. I thought I like the man who was acted by Tom. We ate Spanish meal after that. It was buffet. We ate many meal and desert. We could stay there as long as we can. I liked the restaurant! We enjoyed eating and chatting so much.

I like Korea class the best. Because I had wanted to take Chinese or Korea class since last year, but I could not take these class for reason I had to take another class to graduate. I was glad to have this day. We went to the Mall Of America! This mall is the biggest mall in the U.S. I went to there with Kari before, and I found cute boots, but I thought it was wepensive, so I did not buy it. My summer vacation in Okinawa

I had gone back to Okinawa after tests for 10 days. It was necessary days for me. Next day I returned to Okinawa, I Played with my friends. She has her own car, so we could go anywhere we want to go to. At first, we went to Miyazato syokudou. It is a famous restaurant for Okinawa noodle, but I have not been there since I was a elementary school student. In there, we meet Michiko and her friend from Kumamoto. Michiko goes to school in Kumamoto. I and she have met only once in Kumamoto. Our schedule always does not fit. We chatted and satisfied with Okinawa noodle. After that, we went to Kaiyouhaku. Unfortunately, it was heavy rainy day. So we said good bye to Michiko and her friend and went to Chatan. We went to Chatan and joined Yurika there. She had not changed so much. We saw movie but I forgot what movie we saw. And we went to curry and rice buffet. As I thought, much curry and rice made us sick and we could not eat much. But I like curry and rice. After that we went to Karaoke bar and sang until sun rise. We enjoyed meeting after long interval. Next day, we pretended tourists and went to Ryukyu village. We can enjoy Okinawan culture in the village. I had not seen Eisa for long time so I was pleased to see cool performance. I could touch big snake too. Another day, we went to Kori island. It is a place many tourist gather. Okinawan people do not wear swimming suits, so I thought we distinguised so much!haha we enjoyed playing in the ocean. Thank you Takasi driving us to there! He only to stay on the beach and did not swim.
Another day, I met with Satuki and Saori after a long time. Satuki had been abroad for one year and entered university this year. This three member are good friends from 3rd year of junior high school. Every time I saw my friend in Okinawa, people said 'Sayano! You have gained waight!' and lough. And Satuki always say this kind of thing straight. When she saw me, she laughed and 'Sayano! Your face is getting big!!' I was convinced of getting fat.LOL I have to be on diet. Another day, I went driving with Saori and Miki. This member are group of silly people I think. We laughd and laughed. We stayed in the hotel and enjoyed Naha city. Next day, we went to the ANA private beach. We felt uneasy and said ' We are guests in here.' But it was easy to go in. It cost some money to go in the beach if we are not guests in the hotel. I liked the beach! I went to Karaoke and stayed all night with Yuki. I and she like to sing. I enjoyed short back to Okinawa. I am looking forward to going back to Okinawa on Coming of Age Day.

Little bit about summer vacation

I will introduce about Freedonia’s sight seeing spots. Freedonia is a good place to enjoy sports and sight seeing. We can go Freedonia by ship, airplane, and train, anything you like. Tourists are surprised at it and excited at dream world. Of course, chocolates are free! In Freedonia, chocolates are main drink. When Freedonian wake up, they drink a cup of chocolate. When Freedonian come back from work, they drink a cup of chocolate. You should bring some fruits or marshmallow. You can eat it with delicious chocolate anytime any quantity you like, but you have to be careful not to eat too much. It makes you fat.
After you eat with chocolate fountain, you can play sports and do exercise. As Freedonia is always good weather and warmth like spring, we can enjoy many kinds of marine sports, diving, fishing, surfing, Jet Ski, yacht and so on. Freedonia has beautiful ocean colored clear blue, and there are beautiful fishes too. If you like swimming, you can swim with dolphins. The dolphins have lived with Freedonian for long time, so they are kind to human. In lots of joyful marine sports, Jet Ski is the most famous sport in Freedonia. Though Freedonia is almost women’s country, it has produced a number of Olympic athletes. Jet Ski is a like a hide and seek to Freedonian. They naturally play Jet Ski in child food. Kumamoto essay rewrite

Summer is coming soon. To say summer… is festival! I like festivals very much. There are many festivals in Kumamoto. I have never been to Kumamoto festivals, but in many festivals, I will introduce “Fujisaki shrine Autumn festival” first of all.　It is an annual festival held in Fujisaki shrine which is the shrine in Kumamoto city. This big festival is held in September for five days. The last day will be September’s third Monday (Respect for the Aged Day). The festival’s main event is the parade which is performed on the last day. In parade, dedicating parade which is composed by portable shrine with ”Zuibyou”　and “Kazariuma” attract people’s attention. By the way, ”Zuibyou”　means soldiers who accompanied with the general. “Kazariuma” means dressed horse which was ridden by general. In recent years, “Kazariuma” have been contributed by as many as sixty groups. This dedicating parade is bustling thing which is called with musical accompaniment, “Do-kai,Do-kai “ and ringing something like a bugle. It goes through Kumamoto city.
Secondly, I will introduce “Yamaga tourou festival”. Tourou means a garden lantern. This festival is held in Yamaga city and Omiya shrine’s festival which is in Yamaga hot spring. This event is done during August 15th to August 17th every year. In this festival, a folk song ‘Yohehobusi’ is played, and with this music, women dressed in Yukata walk around Yamaga city putting a golden garden lantern on her head. This golden garden lantern is made only gold and silver paper. This festival is one of the famous festival in Kumamoto same as ‘Fuzisakihachimanguu syuuki reitaisai’ and ‘Myouken festival’ in Yatushiro city. There are some story about the origin of this festival. Story of the one was that when Keikou emperor was traveling Kyusyuu, deep fog appeared near lake and he and his men could not see anything, so they had a hard time. Then, Yamaga citizens lead them to Omiya shrine with torch. This came to be a garden lantern and was dedicated to shrine. Another story, in Muromachi mid period, the time hot spring disappeared, Yumei houin prayed for god and hot spring gush out again. After his death, praying for good luck in heaven, people dedicated a garden lantern to shrine.
Thirdly, I will introduce ‘Myouken festival’. It is held in Yatsushiro city, Myouken shrine. I think this Kumamoto citizens are proud of this festival. This festival is called one in three major festivals in Kyuusyu. The others are Hakozaki shrine festival in Fukuoka, and Suwa shrine festival in Nagasaki. Myouken shrine festival parade for god’s happiness is a prefecture designated important intangible cultural asset. And famous program is lion performance. Of course, it is not a real lion. There are two people inside the lion costume, and they move like a real lion! There are same performances in my prefecture, Okinawa. When I saw it at the first time, I was afraid of the lion, because I was only one year old or younger than that. But now, I really like to see the performance. It is very cool and fun. I decided to go to many festivals in Kumamoto this year.

summer

It is friday today. I am very excited now. Because I am going to Fukuoka tomorrow. I bought many clothes in PARCO's sale, but I have to buy more clothes for home stay program. I have not decided what to buy, but they are probably doing sale now, so I wish I can meet favorite clothes. Rainy season has almost done. I am very happy. Recent heavy rain caused my laundry machine broke. I am so angry at it. I have no bath towel to use now!!!!

WEEKEND

As I want to earn word guantity, I will write my last weekend in very detail. My friend Saori was planning to come Kumamoto, Saturday early morning. So, I woke up early and cleaned up my showerroom, bathroom, and folded my piled laundry. When the time is coming she planned to take the highway bus, she sent e-mail to me. ' I woke up now! I intended to go Kumamoto early and surprise you lol ' so she arrived Kumamoto 3o'clock. It takes 2 hours and 40 minutes to come kumamoto from Kokura. We met after an interval of two months. We went to PARCO because they do a sale now! I went to there secound day of the sale and did a good shopping but there is no PARCO in Kokura, I wanted to show her how sale is good. Fortunately, some shops was doing time sale! We excited and I bought some cloths too. She seemed to be very pleasant. After that, we went to the theater and watched TOY STORY3!!! I was looking forward to seeing it very much! The movie was more and more interesting than I expected. That movie was great! It was touching, excited, Woody was cool, Andy grow up and became cool! I think TOY STORY 3 is the best of TOY STORY series. Everyone has to see it in theater. Then, we went to 31 and ate triple scoops of icecream. I was satisfied with big quantity of icecream. After that, we went to downtown and took purikura. Recently, purikura machines have advanced. We can be pretty in purikura.HAHA Then, we went to Okinawan bar. Orner of the bar was from Okinawa. We talked him and swelled by a local story. We had a funtime with delicious meals and chatting. I tasted good old Mozuku tempura and Ju-si-. After that, we went to fortune-telling. She said ' You are too negative. If a boy is negative too, he will be tired of your minus word. You have to say positive word. That can make you positive thought. ' That was right. I am too negative and always think myself bad. I thought I would say positive word even if my heart was different. And i was said ' You drink water too much. You must not drink water before go to bed.' That's right. I drink water even if I am full. Saori was said 'You should change your look. Cut hair and change a part of your bangs.' It was funny but I think she will be nice if she does that. While she was doing fortune-telling, I talked Miki on the phone. Our three members play toghter well and we promissed playing toghter during summer vacation. We went to Donki and got beer and snacks! Karaoke all night! As usuall, she slept 2o'clock. She is always sleepy and cannot wake up all night. HAHA I sang alone untill 5o'clock and slept. Because I don't watch music proglam recently, I don't know popular music now. That means I am old. We ate morning-Mac and went to my apartment. Though she slept longer than me, she said 'I am sleepy'. That's made me laugh. No sleeping, we went to Kurea. Though we did not have any sleep. We got there 2o'clock! That means we are loose. We enjoyed watching YOUTUBE and absorbed in it.HAHA We intended to eat parfait of bucket but we could not wait for and ate lunch. So we agreed we cannot eat parfait of bucket. Finally, we ate usual parfait. We are stupid!!! I enjoyed this weekend very much. There is a happy news for me! My father said 'You should come back to Okinawa before going to the U.S.',so I am going to Okinawa this weekend two day third. Yahoo~!! I cannot wait for it! Beautiful sea are waiting for me!!
